CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?

So, How Do We Pray?

Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray.” He did not say this is what you should say, but rather this is how you should pray. The Lord’s prayer gives four specific things to pray about. One of the best ways to remember these four things is through the acronym P.R.A.Y.

PRAISE

Tell God thanks for who He is and what He has done. Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9a) See also: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

REPENT

Confess your sins to God. Tell him how sorry you are for them and that you need His forgiveness. Ask God for strength not to do the sin again. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) See also: Psalm 51:1-12

ASK

Give your requests to God. Give us today our daily bread.” And “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:11 & 6:13) See also: Ephesians 6:19-20

YIELD

Spend time submitting to God that His will be done in your life. Spend time quietly listening to God. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) See also: Matthew 26:39 & Psalm 46:10a
