Join others for a time of prayer:

Wednesday: A group meets at the West Campus on 180th 2 blocks North of Dodge at 4:00 pm in room W 10/11.

If we can pray for you, please submit your request on the Prayer Wall.

So, how do we pray? Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray.” He did not say this is what you should say, but rather this is how you should pray. The Lord’s prayer gives four specific things to pray about. One of the best ways to remember these four things is through the acronym P.R.A.Y.

PRAISE

Tell God thanks for who He is and what He has done. Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9a) See also: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

REPENT

Confess your sins to God. Tell him how sorry you are for them and that you need His forgiveness. Ask God for strength not to do the sin again. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) See also: Psalm 51:1-12

ASK

Give your requests to God. Give us today our daily bread.” And “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:11 & 6:13) See also: Ephesians 6:19-20

YIELD

Spend time submitting to God that His will be done in your life. Spend time quietly listening to God. Your kingdom done, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) See also: Matthew 26:39 & Psalm 46:10a

Day 2 of Pine Ridge Wanblee.

Don’t you just love it when we come up with plans and then God shifts everything around?

This morning, the Lion’s Club from Wisconsin stopped by around 8am with 2 full traitors. You see, many of the Natives that live around Wanblee - don’t have beds to sleep on. Some sleep on couches, some sleep on floors, some sleep anywhere they can in their house. Today - the lions club brought 100 beds with bed frames to give those around here dignity for a good nights sleep on a mattress. Pray that these beds might open doors for the Gospel to be shared.

The playground is underway! It just started a few hours later than we anticipated! A dozen or so kids, young people, and adults came and joined in the starting phases of putting the playground together. It is so cool to see how the kids react when they saw what the playground looked like just in pictures and now that it is going up - the faces are priceless! A glimmer of hope is coming to Wanblee!

We drove about an hour away this evening to go to church on the Rez! We spent time with our friends at the Carpenter Shop in Mission, SD. They are pursuing the hearts of young people for Jesus and being successful at it. 2/3 of their congregation is made up of youth from the Rosebud Reservation! Please join us in praying alongside them that their Camp Meeting on Labor Day Weekend - gets people excited about the Gospel. Also pray for the continued funding and placement of their new church building - which has a funder! Worshipping with them was awesome and a great experience. We heard from their pastor, Tim, about being Average Christians vs Spiritual Christians. God used him to speak to a lot of our team in many different ways!

Lastly, pray for Bob and Mary. Today, they found out that a mother tried committing suicide yesterday. The suicide attempt was not successful, but raised a lot of concerns and spiritual issues with the family. Mary is currently working with the woman to show her that God loves her more than anything and that there is more to life!

A couple weeks ago - a family that visits Families Working Together often - began the mourning process of losing their daughter to drowning in a nearby river. The parents have been sober from drugs and alcohol for just 8 months. Please continue for pray for peace and comfort in the mourning process, as well as, the dad be protected from evil and temptation. He said he could find it very easy and that people would be understanding if he went back to his old ways - Bob and Mary are trying to vigilant and not let that happen. God will fight the spiritual battles for him and he needs to put on the armor of God.

Thanks
