Join others for a time of prayer:

Wednesday: A group meets at the West Campus on 180th 2 blocks North of Dodge at 4:00 pm in room W 10/11.

If we can pray for you, please submit your request on the Prayer Wall.

So, how do we pray? Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray.” He did not say this is what you should say, but rather this is how you should pray. The Lord’s prayer gives four specific things to pray about. One of the best ways to remember these four things is through the acronym P.R.A.Y.

Tell God thanks for who He is and what He has done. Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9a) See also: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

Confess your sins to God. Tell him how sorry you are for them and that you need His forgiveness. Ask God for strength not to do the sin again. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) See also: Psalm 51:1-12

Give your requests to God. Give us today our daily bread.” And “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:11 & 6:13) See also: Ephesians 6:19-20

Spend time submitting to God that His will be done in your life. Spend time quietly listening to God. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) See also: Matthew 26:39 & Psalm 46:10a

Psalm 103:1-6 “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

I got the opportunity to speak on this section of Psalms recently and as I continue to think about it – it really has hit home. Are we leading a life in which our whole inmost being is giving praise to His name? Are we leading a life in which we won’t forget his benefits? It is my prayer that as I work with awesome Small Group Leaders and young people that all of us are living a life where who we are praises the name of Jesus and remembers the benefits of Christ. I pray that our young people get to worship God with everything they have and that they can see He redeems them, that no matter what their life situation (as we are all sinners) that we are taken out of the pit and crowned with HIS love and compassion. We have a lot of young people who have a lot of different things going on in their life that as young people they shouldn’t have to deal with or worry about – but they are and they do – pray that as they get to know Jesus more – they can see that their God loves them more than they can imagine.

Prayers for our young people as we continue to talk about different world religions and belief systems that are different from Christianity. May they see as we share the G.O.S.P.E.L. with them that they are transformed. We are currently praying that this weekly study will help equip them and encourage them to share the G.O.S.P.E.L. with those they go to school with.

We ask prayers for those who are about to graduate – Rebecca Clarke, Madison Honeyman, Jillian Jones, Jacob Batho, Josh Kalin, Sarah Collins, Emma Collins, Olivia Kastens, Emma Fischer, Cameron Queen, Selena Alvarez-Schmidt, Kate Schmidt, and Cecillia Haug. May God be with them and protect them. May the Holy Spirit continue to work through them and guide their path, and may Jesus be at the very forefront of their lives. We pray that they have the courage to share the Gospel, wherever they may go!

We are praying for one more male and female Small Group Leader for next year. Each Small Group Leader leads a group of about 5 young people. We are also looking for a fill-in Small Group Leader for youth group.

We are praying a prayer of thanksgiving and celebration for one of our young people who has been coming for about 8 months now. After having conversations of whom Jesus is and what Jesus has done for him and for all of us – he gave his life to Jesus! We are encouraging him and supporting him and very excited for him. May God use him to do great things for the Kingdom!

Through our planning and preparation – we are praying for the young people and adults who are going on all our summer trips or spending time with us this summer. We are praying for protection and safety as we will have to travel to many places, we are asking for the Holy Spirit to lead us in the work and areas we are headed, we are praying for the individuals and groups in areas in where we are ministering, and we are praying for the hearts of the ones who are going – that they may be focused on Jesus and not on us.
