January 2020

All the members of the board would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very blessed new year. This is the time of the year we celebrate our Savior’s birth, as we focus on our church and family traditions. We hope you enjoyed all the special programs that our church offered, especially the intergenerational Christmas program at East and the Children’s program at West that helped us celebrate Christmas.

Our family at LCM has a lot to be thankful for this past year, as we are fully staffed which has allowed us to have full complement of small group offerings and numerous programs for all ages at both campuses. LCM continues to reach out to our surrounding communities at both campuses with various activities. Our staff and members are creating relationships with people, especially kids, who do not have faith in their daily lives. Our ministry staff is committed to bringing Christ to the lives of more people.

The Board, along with input from our staff, is working on finalizing our church budget for 2020. The Board would like to thank all of you for financially supporting LCM through your generous giving. Our finances are in good shape, as we approach the end of the year. The board encourages all of us to continue generous giving for the upcoming year. The pastoral staff has exciting new initiatives planned for the new year that they and the board will be discussing with the congregation in the near future.

We will be having budget review sessions at both campuses in January, and the board encourages feedback from the congregation. The board has approved several capital maintenance projects to be completed during the upcoming year. Through the generous giving of LCM members to the capital improvement fund, projects can now be accomplished. One project we will be doing is replacing ceiling tiles in parts of the East campus.

The present ceiling tile contains asbestos, and it has been recommended by an outside insurance inspector that it needs to be replaced before it starts to deteriorate. New LED lighting will also be installed replacing existing lighting when the ceiling tile project takes place. The approximate cost of this project is $75,000. The work will take place at the end of May through June. The second project approved by the board is repairing and resurfacing the parking lot and driveways at the East campus. This is a project that has been long overdue. The approximate cost of this project is $175,000. The work will take place as soon as weather permits, starting in the spring.

Your continued giving to the capital maintenance fund allows other maintenance projects that are needed at both campuses to be accomplished in the future. The board will not approve any projects without adequate money in the maintenance funds. A reminder to all is that LCM’s annual meeting is scheduled for January 26, 2019 at the East campus. You will be receiving additional information on the meeting in the future.

Especially during this season, “Go share the love of Christ today.”Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you! From all members of the Board.
Jerry Osborne
President of LCM’s Board
