These are the words of God to Moses from the burning bush right after God revealed the divine name “I AM” (Yahweh in Hebrew). God tells Moses He has seen the burden of slavery of the people in Egypt and has heard their cries. Now God calls Moses to be the deliverer of His message to Pharaoh to “let my people go!” The Jews to this day celebrate this act of God liberating them through the Passover meal.

John 3:16 reveals to us Christ brings not a salvation from the past, but salvation now and into eternity.
