Join others for a time of prayer:

Wednesday: A group meets at the West Campus on 180th 2 blocks North of Dodge at 4:00 pm in room W 10/11.

If we can pray for you, please submit your request on the Prayer Wall.

So, how do we pray? Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray.” He did not say this is what you should say, but rather this is how you should pray. The Lord’s prayer gives four specific things to pray about. One of the best ways to remember these four things is through the acronym P.R.A.Y.

PRAISE

Tell God thanks for who He is and what He has done. Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9a) See also: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

REPENT

Confess your sins to God. Tell him how sorry you are for them and that you need His forgiveness. Ask God for strength not to do the sin again. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) See also: Psalm 51:1-12

ASK

Give your requests to God. Give us today our daily bread.” And “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:11 & 6:13) See also: Ephesians 6:19-20

YIELD

Spend time submitting to God that His will be done in your life. Spend time quietly listening to God. Your kingdom done, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) See also: Matthew 26:39 & Psalm 46:10a

Good morning

Well Linda is home but still needs your prayers for healing and renewed strength.

Prayers also for the doctors who cared for her and the people who will be in their care in the future. Linda got the worst care anyone could expect in a hospital.

As usual, even while hospitalized Linda was more concerned for others than for herself. Please pray for that angel to be with us again soon.

Thank you all you prayer warriors.

Please pray this prayer with me for pregnancy for us and to become closer to The LORD:

Our Father; LORD Almighty who made heaven and earth; I ask to pray in your Spirit; as your Son is My Shepard The One that walked within flesh on this earth, we ask first as it is WRITTEN: we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Please forgive the ones we are aware of and the ones we are unaware of. As Jesus said “son you are forgiven”. I pray that You send Your anointed angels over Christian and Courtney with God’s Armor; “the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit” to protect them.

As it is written: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

“For every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be kind of first fruits of all he created.” Father we ask that these to be combined together as one flesh and to be blessed with the creation of a child within the womb as “Children are the heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.”

As it is written: Therefore, I say unto you, what things so you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive and you shall have them

O LORD the creator of heaven and earth and Christ Jesus that walked in flesh; I thank You for all Your Love, Mercy, Grace and Blessings as all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us as He was crucified on the cross and resurrected to give us enteral life through the blood of Our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ. "To him whom sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!"

In the name of Christ Jesus, I pray Amen

Hello! I'm not part of your community, but may I please ask for prayers?

Please pray for Grant J.'s soul to be deeply healed, that the idols in his life and veils from his eyes are removed, so he can now come into salvation through the necessary circumstances that it takes for him to encounter Father God, speedily. And for creative healing of his ankle.

Please pray for Hugh, Cindy and their daughter Casey O's salvation and for the veils of the eyes of their understanding to be lifted and all the idols in their lives fully removed, so they can know, embrace, walk in the truth of Jesus and so that God's purposes can come through their lives.

Most importantly, Praise God that all of the people in these prayers now know and walk with Jesus!

Day 3 of Pine Ridge Wanblee

Today went along better with our scheduling plans.

Yesterday, quickly - Norma gave us a devotion about our blessings. She used the story from Laura Story’s songs, “Blessings” which talked about her time during the good and the bad - now - we talked about how do we look at the times in our life and what do we consider blessings. She really convicted us and made us think.

We then talked about the Great Commission - and how and what we should do with it. The idea was it is easy to go on a mission trip and follow it. However, when we go back home sharing the Gospel isn’t as much “fun” - The idea was to challenge each individual that sharing the Gospel is something we should in all aspects of our life - as we are coming and going in our daily life - not just in a place where we may see a need. Please pray that each individual on this trip may continue their mission of sharing the Love of Christ when they get back home - whether that is at school, work, or even at the grocery store! Pray that the Holy Spirit may lead YOU to share the Gospel in aspects of your life too!!

As we continue to talk about being united in Christ - today was another example. The playground has officially began to take shape. This morning alongside Dale and Curtis who help out Bob and Mary regularly - we put in the outline of the playground, as well as, laid out 120 bags of mulch to make the are a little safer for kids to play on. About a block away - inside the building - the playground was being built in phases. We moved one section of the playground to the park and began on the other side. People are really getting excited and are stopping by and helping out! On Friday - they are planning a big ribbon cutting ceremony for the community to celebrate! Please pray for unity within our team, unity within us and the community, and also some nice weather! (It is going to be a little warm soon)!!

We ended the day by going to Badlands National Park to enjoy time together and time in God’s creation! We packed our dinners, spent time in our worship, and then went around hiking as the sun was setting! Such a beautiful reminder of how much God loves us that he made such a beautiful creation for us to enjoy even when we were still sinners!

Please pray for God’s love to continue to be shown, felt, and received.

Thanks

Day 2 of Pine Ridge Wanblee.

Don’t you just love it when we come up with plans and then God shifts everything around?

This morning, the Lion’s Club from Wisconsin stopped by around 8am with 2 full traitors. You see, many of the Natives that live around Wanblee - don’t have beds to sleep on. Some sleep on couches, some sleep on floors, some sleep anywhere they can in their house. Today - the lions club brought 100 beds with bed frames to give those around here dignity for a good nights sleep on a mattress. Pray that these beds might open doors for the Gospel to be shared.

The playground is underway! It just started a few hours later than we anticipated! A dozen or so kids, young people, and adults came and joined in the starting phases of putting the playground together. It is so cool to see how the kids react when they saw what the playground looked like just in pictures and now that it is going up - the faces are priceless! A glimmer of hope is coming to Wanblee!

We drove about an hour away this evening to go to church on the Rez! We spent time with our friends at the Carpenter Shop in Mission, SD. They are pursuing the hearts of young people for Jesus and being successful at it. 2/3 of their congregation is made up of youth from the Rosebud Reservation! Please join us in praying alongside them that their Camp Meeting on Labor Day Weekend - gets people excited about the Gospel. Also pray for the continued funding and placement of their new church building - which has a funder! Worshipping with them was awesome and a great experience. We heard from their pastor, Tim, about being Average Christians vs Spiritual Christians. God used him to speak to a lot of our team in many different ways!

Lastly, pray for Bob and Mary. Today, they found out that a mother tried committing suicide yesterday. The suicide attempt was not successful, but raised a lot of concerns and spiritual issues with the family. Mary is currently working with the woman to show her that God loves her more than anything and that there is more to life!

A couple weeks ago - a family that visits Families Working Together often - began the mourning process of losing their daughter to drowning in a nearby river. The parents have been sober from drugs and alcohol for just 8 months. Please continue for pray for peace and comfort in the mourning process, as well as, the dad be protected from evil and temptation. He said he could find it very easy and that people would be understanding if he went back to his old ways - Bob and Mary are trying to vigilant and not let that happen. God will fight the spiritual battles for him and he needs to put on the armor of God.

Thanks

Day 1 of Pine Ridge Wanblee

It was a fantastic day! Thank you for praying over us at the 8am service. One thing we are stressing this year is unity in Christ. That was a public display from our congregation of being united in Christ. It truly set our trip off right! I can’t wait to see this happen with every trip!

Though it was rainy almost the entire way - conversations were taking place in every van, truck, and car. We got to hear stories that made us laugh, made us cry, and made us talk about Jesus! It is the small conversations where trust is born, where Jesus can come in and transform someone’s life. I can’t wait to see how we are all transformed this week!

We made it to Wanblee and were greeted with hugs from Bob and Mary! These two give so much of their time and effort to help out those in and around Wanblee. They have such a great heart for Jesus, young people and kids. Please pray for protection from evil and the devil not only during this week - but as long as this ministry is here. Please add this to your prayer list. Bob and Mary are liked by many, but also not welcomed by many. Creating relationships and trust is a must and only God can bring healing and can unite.

After dinner - we spent time in conversation - going over the schedule for Monday, basic rules, and general safety concerns. Then we spent time in prayer, hearing a message, and worshipping together. Dee led us in a message referencing Matthew 17 - where Jesus is talking about the faith of a mustard seed. Bob and Mary started coming to Wanblee with just faith that Christ was calling them here, we have been coming to Wanblee for 6 years now - based on faith of a mustard seed. Transformation is happening, God is Alive, and God is active in Wanblee. Pray for seeds to be planted, for those that are planted to be watered and nourished, and for those that are nourished and watered - to spread seeds. We then ended with the song, “God of this City”.

The chorus of this song - should be our prayer - not only for Wanblee, but for Omaha, for Nebraska, for the USA, and for our world - please write this down and pray daily the following:

“You’re the God of this City, You’re the King of these people, You’re the Lord of this Nation - you are. For Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city. There is no one like our God, There is no one like our God.”

Amen!

Prayer:

1. It may sound stupid, but I’m looking for an Asian believer who’s willing to serve at north middle school. There is a high population of Asian americans there, especially Hindu, and I want to find someone who can help bring that cultural gap between Jesus and Hinduism. If you know someone, let me know.

2. Middle School Camp – 8/2-8/7

a. We have about 10 kids signed up now for camp. Pray for their hearts. That they’re ready for Jesus and his work in their heart and life.

3. We’re on the march toward 30 volunteers and, right now, are halfway there. Pray for success and favor in asking others to find creative ways to serve the schools.

Answered:

4. Savannah came quickly and we enjoyed our time in the hospital. God has already provided for the bill which we rejoice for

5. We have 3 people interested in giving more of their time at the middle school level.

I thank God for the pregnancy He has blessed us with. I pray God would have mercy on me and take away the sickness that I have. I ask for prayers that God would allow me to get fluids and food in me and that they would stay so I can regain strength. I pray the medicines would work and I would be able to find “safe foods” that help me get better.

I especially ask for prayers for my amazing husband Jonathan as this is very hard on him. I ask for prayers of wisdom, strength, and longevity as he is shouldering so much right now to keep our household going.

Lastly I raise up prayers of thanksgiving for all those that are reaching out and helping us in this time of need with taking care of me and Jesse.

Thank you for your prayers: I unite with your requests also, God knows. My prayer requests are very specific right now, although sometimes the only prayer I think is the answer is Salvation and getting through back to our Creator. Yet my request is not for Salvation or redication as it usually it. Here they are, please keep them in mine after:

Employment, job, work, finances; processed all for Sears and may preliminary requests pre employment go through, did drug test today, although I have never used drugs, do take a lot of supplements, and just ask for prayer for this an all else, background etc. finalizes succesfully. Am aware that these stores are closing but somehow God wants me there, and feel I might be able to do something ask for the Lord to anoint me again and put a covering over this one store and its renewal and progress with the hope of mgmt position while concurrently continuing with past job and maintain good relations and resolution along with PT with them too. God knows the details to this complicated situation, Lord give me the victory and the glory go to You. Touch not my annointed Psalm 105:15.

Aside from that prayer for my late return to school and that all paper work for second year go through fine and continue on delegently in my studies. Also for July 1st State exam registration to go through and payment also for Octobers exam.

There is a special request for a person, that I am not sure how to pray for, but the Lord knows. First, a deliverance from all that is not of God and cleansing, renewal, touch every cell in their body, physically realine body lengthen fascia connective tissues balance and release painful repressed memories straighten every crooked place in their lives and put back on track of their purpose but most of all for them to quickly, after much lost time and years, and being cheated or stalled from promotional hierachy in employment as an authority escalate to solution and given position/post in dept which was wrongfully selectively denied. Hedge of lifetime protection over and through all in the name of Christjesus. In Christ

This week, please pray the Gretna Community. This past week they had a tragic car accident involving 5 Gretna teens. Four students passed away and one is in the hospital.

Prayer Partners,

If you live in the Omaha area, you have most likely heard of the tragic car accident on Monday night that has rocked our city. Four Gretna High School students were killed and one is in the hospital.

Gretna is a “small community” with 1 high school (and 2 middle schools) and everyone has been impacted in some way. We have a large Campus Life program with 50+ leaders investing life, hope, and the love of Jesus in hundreds of kids.

This week, please pray without ceasing for the Gretna Community!

Pray for the families involved in this tragedy. Pray that God will bring them comfort, healing, and strength. Pray that family, friends, and the community will have wisdom and generosity in how to support them through this difficult time.

Pray for the students in Gretna that they will have trusted adults and friends that they can process this tragedy with and discover healing and God’s love. Pray that God would be glorified and that kids would choose to trust and follow Him. Pray that the difficult questions that come will bring understanding to God’s goodness and love.

Pray for strength and endurance for the Gretna Community and our local churches as they serve and minister to hurting kids and adults for months and years ahead.

This is also very personal for us as it is where my family and I live, along with a few of our staff. Please pray for our Gretna staff and their families! Brian & Sara Pruch, Nate & Jentry Plugge, Collier Buttgen, Halie Willard, Ben Norvig, Ted & Michelle Plugge, and my wife, Christy, and I.

Thank you for joining us in this powerful way!

Day 3

It is Day 3 here at MOVE. Tonight was a big and impactful night. As we continue through the story of Elijah - we get to the point after God showed up BIG at the showdown with Baal - where Elijah on his own prompting heads to a cave because Jezebel wants Elijah dead. It says in 1 Kings 19:3, “Elijah was afraid and ran for his life.” We stopped right there because after everything Elijah had seen God do - he still didn’t fully trust in God especially when Jezebel wanted him dead!

Where do run to when we are scared? Do you run into the arms of God or do we run to our own “cave”? That was the question for the evening. CIY put up 5 light all across the room to signify caves that are common hiding places for young people. The caves that were set up were caves of fear, apathy, shame, loneliness, and anger. We then spent time in prayer asking God to illuminate the cave that we are stuck in and unwilling to come out of. After that young people got to go to the cave that they’ve been stuck on. Our Small Group Leaders then went with young people to pray over them and with them. Tears were shed, hearts were open, and God moved in not only our young people but others here. We went into our group time as a church and heard stories, prayed with each other, and opened up to one another.

Please continue praying for our young people and our Small Group Leaders.

Day 4

Today was a chill day. The last 2 days have been overwhelming for our young people and frankly us as Small Group Leaders too. Move doesn’t only reach young people, but it forces us as Small Group Leaders to look inside of us and see where our faith is and what we are struggling with.

We spent time still in our Small Groups in downtown Indianapolis today. We walked across downtown in the sunshine and in the rain exploring and see what it has to offer! It was a great time to debrief with some young people on their week, their faith life, and other things going on. The wisdom that can come from a young person is so overwhelming at times too!

We got back to campus and one of our young people was selected to be the “Freshest Prince” all day long - so we celebrated Tanner! God is doing some amazing things in this young person and it is fun and awesome to be alongside him. He was interviewed on the main stage and is loved by everyone!

Our message from this evening was talking about being sent! The speaker and our small group leaders talked about the people who had been sent to them to share the Gospel with them and how in the living or passed away - those people are still sending people to them to share the message and love of Christ. We asked our young people to think about those being sent to them and who they believe they are sent to. Just as Elijah went and found Elisha, just as Jesus went out and found his disciples; we too are to go and find people to share the Good News with! My favorite moment of the week was watching our young people be vulnerable in sharing who the person they want to share the Gospel was and then praying out loud for the person next to them.

So the question is - what person are you being sent to share the Gospel with? Open yourselves to the Holy Spirit - that the spirit may guide you. Depend on the “I AM” to give you the words to speak to that person. Remember the Cross and what Christ did for you - so you can share that with passion, purpose, and meaning!

Hello again from Anderson, IN!!

It is Day 2 of Move!

What a fun, exciting, and challenging day we had today! We are continuing our way through the story of Elijah! Today we were faced with the story where Elijah trust God in front of 850 prophets and He is showing that God is real! He asked the prophets to pray to their god, Baal. When the prayed and waited for an answer - Baal never lit the sacrifice. Elijah then had them pour 12 jugs of water on the bull and prayed to God to show them that He is real and God burned the sacrifice.

They left us with this question, “How long will you not decide between two choices?”

Pray that this question may be answered by our young people. The world is tugging at them in every direction, yet they still have a God who is pursuing them. Many of them have to look at these choices - the world or God? Pray the Holy Spirit will illuminate the answer to this question for them!

The other question - we were left with was - “Do You Trust Me?” For many of us this is a tough question. With our mouths we say, YES - but with our actions - we say otherwise. The world is teaching us that we are to trust in money, relationships, idols, and many other things - where here - God is wanting us to trust Him?

So - “Do YOU trust God?”

First let us give the Lord thanks for the abundance of all things. Please pray that the Lord would deliver his people from evil men; That the Lord would preserve his people from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually. Pray against the spirit of anti Christ, false witness, terrorism, leviathan, jezebel, witchcraft, hatred and violence. Pray for world wide repentance that people would turn to God, so that he will forgive their sins. Please pray and intercede without ceasing that God's will be done in the lives of the world's leaders and for our leaders to seek God and listen to Him. Pray that they would be surrounded by godly counsel and, that President Trump and the world leaders would personally know God and the salvation found through faith in Jesus Christ alone. That we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. God can turn the hearts of kings. Earnestly pray that the people of America and its leaders will humble themselves and seek the Lords face and turn from their wicked ways. Pray that the Lord would hear from heaven and forgive our countries sins and heal our land. God Bless America Pray that the Lord would grant peace in America, that we may lie down and no one will make us afraid. That the Lord would remove wild beasts from the land, and that the sword will not pass through our country and that President Trump along with our leaders be filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might to declare the sins of Gods people. Please pray for revival and that the Lord would pour out his spirit on his servants, throughout the world both men and women. Pray for the peace of Israel. Gods will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Praise and Prayers for our high schoolers who are at the MOVE conference this week and the leaders that are with them!

Day 1 of Move

Praise God! We left Omaha at 3am on Sunday to make it to Anderson, IN in time to start the MOVE Conference that is hosted by CIY. We had great weather to make it here safely. We checked in, took a group photo, and then headed straight to dinner! After that, the Small Group Leaders went to a meeting and our young people were welcomed officially to Move.

Last night, we talked about how God invites us into His story. We are spending the week looking at the life of Elijah and how that can be applied into our daily lives. We looked at 3 groups of people. King Ahab - who did horrible things, the people - who either followed half-heartedly or distracted others from believing, and Elijah - people who lead others to God. We ended the night asking our young people, “if they had to describe themselves as one of the groups - which group would they fall into?” Then we offered assurance that no matter which group they are in - God invites them into His story!

Pray for God to do mighty things within the hearts of our young people this week. That those who believe in Him may be strengthened and encouraged. Those who want to believe in Him are touched by the Spirit this week and have the boldness to proclaim their faith. To those who don’t believe - that they may hear that there is a God who loves them and is pursuing them - and that the story of Elijah may provide that for them.

I also ask - that you pray for our Small Group Leaders for wisdom, for words, for whatever is going on at home, and for clarity as they speak with young people. They are Shelly Oestmann, Carla Faulk, Laurel Heskett, Zac Vyhlidal, Autumn Love. These individuals are engaging in deep conversations, creating friendships, and giving up their time to be alongside our young people.

PRAYER REQUEST :

For pastor Thieringo

When I(pastor Thieringo) cry, answer me, God of my justice! When I am in distress, save me! Have pity on me, listen to my prayer!

Sons of men, how long will my glory be outraged? How long will you love vanity, will you seek lies?

Know that Jehovah has chosen a godly man; The Lord hears when I cry to him.

Tremble, and sin not; Speak in your hearts on your bed, then shut up.

Offer sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD.

Many say, Who will make us see happiness? Bring on us the light of your face, O LORD!

You put in my heart more joy than they have when their wheat and their must abound.

I go to bed and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD! you give me security in my home.

May all the evils spirits directed against me, coming against me acting against me: be bound, go away and come no more against me. May satan be bound when it comes against me, when it acts against me, when it comes against me, when it acts against me, when it acts in my life: let it be bound go and don't come against me in the name of Jesus. May the Eternal God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit Spirit reprove him drive him away in the name of Jesus.

May the Lord God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit Spirit, Creatures Celestials of the Lord, Spirits of the Lord, who are in the service of the Eternal God, the Angels and Archangels of God, the fire of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ destroy the destroyer so that he may stop destroying me, so that he do not destroy me any more, stop those who persecute me to continue to persecute me, in the name of Jesus.

May all things is in my life that does not come from God come out and don't come back, may the plans of God, the destiny of God for my life be fulfilled in the name of Jesus.

May all altars on which, in which, under which my name is invoked to harm me be:

-destroyed by the blood of Jesus.

-consumed destroyed by the fire of the Holy Spirit, by the Eternal God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit Spirit the Angels and Archangels of God, the fire of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ in the name of Jesus.

-I put the cross of Jesus in the place of the altar

-May the earth vomits what the enemy buried belonging to me

-May what holds what belongs to me vomit my things for me

-May the earth and what held my things don't obey to the enemy and the adversary.

May the Lord God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit Spirit, Creatures Celestials of the Lord, Spirits of the Lord, who are in the service of the Eternal God, the Angels and Archangels of God, the fire of the resurrection power of Jesus -Christ: restore me, bless me and protect me beyond a hundredfold, May they come hastily to my rescue in the name of Jesus.

-So be it :

Eternal my God, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Amen Amen Amen.

May it be so: Eternal my God (my father) in the name of Jesus. Amen Amen Amen

Persecution demonic satanic and dark things done againts pastor Thieringo must stop and mustn't have effect on him and must return againts those who do that. Fire of Holly Spirit must come on evil and bad things againts him. May Holly Spirit Jesus and God do justice to him. May the Lord God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit Spirit the Angels and Archangels of God, the fire of the resurrection power of Jesus -Christ: restore me, bless me and protect me beyond a hundredfold, That they come hastily to my rescue in the name of Jesus. . Protection , healing, wisdom ,freedom, prosperity, chance , success, healthy, goodness of God, miracles, protection againts thieves, great anointing of God, protection againts persecutions, must be in pastor Thieringo's life in Jesus Name .

Afternoon peeps,

I’ve attached my May update, just in case you want to read. I’m looking forward to what the Lord does in this last week of programs and how he moves this summer.

Praise:

• 3 small groups formed this summer helping kids explore faith in Jesus.

o A direct result of your prayers!

• One more person signed up to go Over the Edge! Praying for 1 more!

o A direct result of your prayer!

• Allison is sleeping better.

o A direct result of your prayer!

• We raised $1800 in 10 hours for camp.

o A direct result of your prayer!

Prayer:

• It’s the last week of our school year. We’re eager to finish well and keep sharing Christ as we “cash in” that relational equity from the year.

• Pray that students will bow their knee and choose to follow Jesus; imperfectly, timidly, wherever they’re at.

• Pray for “Teresa.” A mother who is struggling. Her fiancé left and she attempted suicide in early December. She trying to raise 2 7th grade kids and is having an awful time with that, even as she struggles in her faith.

o Our team is figuring out how to help her even as we love her kids. Pray we get good conversations with her and connected to a local church that can shepherd her.’

Love y’all. Keep getting after life and falling more in love with our Savior!

“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

One thing that I have noticed is how youth ministry operates when we have a full team praying over each individuals name. Sometimes the people who are praying don’t know the individual well – but pray over that name as if they did. They are praying diligently for young people they may never meet, but love anyways. I keep a list on me, almost at all times, of people and situations I need to pay for – mainly because if I don’t have the list on me, I’ll forget. But the list helps me in remembering to pray, but also what I need to pray for. If you would like one of these list of young people and families to pray for – please email me at chris.andersen@lcm.church and I will get you one. Growing Young tells us that we need to make young people and families a priority – is there a greater first opportunity to do that than by praying over them by name and need? I think not!

Prayer of Thanks – all of our young people are fully funded for the summer trips. It truly has been a blessing this year seeing our young people interact with people of all different ages. Praying that God continues to work within these relationships and that it may be a testament to what He is doing as people from both inside and outside of our community see these relationships blossom.

We are praying for one more Small Group Leader for next year for Youth Group, male or female leader!

We have been working our way through understanding the core beliefs of other religions and seeing how Christianity is different and how is Jesus the Way! We just finished up a section on Atheism. Pray for our young people because next week we are challenging them to share the Gospel with a friend on Wednesday night!

Speaking of sharing the Gospel – would you join us and others nationwide everyday in prayer? Set your phone alarms to 10:12am and take a moment to pray for young people to be equipped, enabled, and empowered to share the Gospel with their friends. Why 10:12 you may ask? Because on 10/12, October 12th, we will be working with a group called Dare2Share – which wants, “every kid, everywhere, to hear the Gospel from a friend.” We are opening up our West Campus to be a satellite host for a nationwide and international day of equipping, enabling, and empowering young people to share the GOSPEL!

Pray for preparation and executing of our summer trips. It has seemed as some point that it was so far away and now they are almost here! We are so excited to spend time with our young people this summer while learning about and serving Jesus and His people!

Pray for Campus Life – here from the East Campus – we work in Westside Middle School, Westside High School, Millard North Middle, and Millard North High School – all of these schools are looking for more Small Group Leaders to impact the lives of young people. Because of Youth For Christ – we get to go into schools and SHARE JESUS!

Pray for our brothers who are taking classes as part of the Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Gambella, Ethiopia. These are pastors who we get to teach via the internet and speak truth into their lives, pray for them, and give them tools to pastor.

Thank you prayer partners!

Psalm 103:1-6 “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

I got the opportunity to speak on this section of Psalms recently and as I continue to think about it – it really has hit home. Are we leading a life in which our whole inmost being is giving praise to His name? Are we leading a life in which we won’t forget his benefits? It is my prayer that as I work with awesome Small Group Leaders and young people that all of us are living a life where who we are praises the name of Jesus and remembers the benefits of Christ. I pray that our young people get to worship God with everything they have and that they can see He redeems them, that no matter what their life situation (as we are all sinners) that we are taken out of the pit and crowned with HIS love and compassion. We have a lot of young people who have a lot of different things going on in their life that as young people they shouldn’t have to deal with or worry about – but they are and they do – pray that as they get to know Jesus more – they can see that their God loves them more than they can imagine.

Prayers for our young people as we continue to talk about different world religions and belief systems that are different from Christianity. May they see as we share the G.O.S.P.E.L. with them that they are transformed. We are currently praying that this weekly study will help equip them and encourage them to share the G.O.S.P.E.L. with those they go to school with.

We ask prayers for those who are about to graduate – Rebecca Clarke, Madison Honeyman, Jillian Jones, Jacob Batho, Josh Kalin, Sarah Collins, Emma Collins, Olivia Kastens, Emma Fischer, Cameron Queen, Selena Alvarez-Schmidt, Kate Schmidt, and Cecillia Haug. May God be with them and protect them. May the Holy Spirit continue to work through them and guide their path, and may Jesus be at the very forefront of their lives. We pray that they have the courage to share the Gospel, wherever they may go!

We are praying for one more male and female Small Group Leader for next year. Each Small Group Leader leads a group of about 5 young people. We are also looking for a fill-in Small Group Leader for youth group.

We are praying a prayer of thanksgiving and celebration for one of our young people who has been coming for about 8 months now. After having conversations of whom Jesus is and what Jesus has done for him and for all of us – he gave his life to Jesus! We are encouraging him and supporting him and very excited for him. May God use him to do great things for the Kingdom!

Through our planning and preparation – we are praying for the young people and adults who are going on all our summer trips or spending time with us this summer. We are praying for protection and safety as we will have to travel to many places, we are asking for the Holy Spirit to lead us in the work and areas we are headed, we are praying for the individuals and groups in areas in where we are ministering, and we are praying for the hearts of the ones who are going – that they may be focused on Jesus and not on us.

Ryan Pramberg - Youth for Christ

Prayer Team,

Jesus has been challenging me personally with what I am willing to pray for. I plan times in prayer, but they’re often short, pointed, and leave little room for conversation. Plus, there’s things I consider “not worth praying for” because I don’t think it’s worth God’s time. Like asking God for sleep for Allison, or health over allergies for myself. It seems so, small and the other side of me thinks “it’s just allergies. It’ll run it’s natural course and be done by May.”

BUT, our heavenly father doesn’t think that way. He enjoys the conversation and all the things I could possibly come to him with. He wants the small and I want to think broader about what I’m “allowed” to pray for. Even if he says no, it doesn’t hurt our relationship to ask! So, this month I’m bringing out a few requests from left field to inform AND ask for prayer!

Praise – we already have kids signing up for camp this summer and I’m thankful for time with them.

Praise – I got conversations with two boys who don’t know Jesus. They asked lots of great questions about faith and one confessed “I’m not that religious.” To which I got to reply “Me either if you mean working hard to get God’s love, but I’ll follow Jesus anywhere.”

Praise – I got to spend a few hours meeting students at Post-prom…my body is clearly not 18 anymore.

Praise – EVERY leader is meeting outside of school with students to go deeper in the Gospel with them!

Prayer – Allison to get sleep. This pregnancy has been rougher than the last when it comes to her body and baby allowing her to sleep.

Prayer - Envelope Fundraiser:

In order to subsidize camp for kids, our staff raises money to cover the cost of leaders and transportation every year. We don’t want leaders to have to pay for time off work! This year that cost is close to $20k, so we’re raising it as a team through the envelope fundraiser.

Prayer- to find people to “fill the envelopes” by Friday, May 3rd. Allison and I will take whatever one is left, no matter the cost, because I believe you always have to have skin in the game. If you would be willing to fill one, or half of one? Let me know and thank you!

Prayer - Over the Edge

Saturday, June 1st where we will send 78 brave souls “Over the Edge” and they’ll rappel 230 feet down the side of the Highline apartment building.

• Pray for this to be a successful fundraiser!

• Pray for good weather!

If YOU want to rappel, recruit a friend, “Toss your Boss”, or “Toss your Pastor” let me know.

Prayer - Part-Time Staff/volunteers

In order to grow Millard North Campus Life we need at least one part-time staff and are praying for 15 more volunteers. This will help us reach 150-200 more kids weekly with the Gospel. I’m praying for that stay at home mom, youth worker, college kid, or retiree who wants to serve with kids and invest in broken kids!

• If you know someone, let me know. Otherwise, PRAY (Mathew 9:38).

Praising God for his love and mercy. Our nephew Hugh is recovering from Friday’s surgery at the Med Center for a Hepatic Aneurysm. “O God, we want this work kept on a miracle basis. We want everyone to know that God's hand is on this movement. We want folks to see that this is too big and too great for any person or group of people to accomplish by themselves. We want folks to say God did it."

Psalm 90:16-17

Let your work be shown to your servants,

and your glorious power to their children.

17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,

and establish the work of our hands upon us;

yes, establish the work of our hands!

My prayer this morning as I think about our students, leaders, and community. May it be yours as well as you engage in what you’re doing; your home, church, work, and the world!

Prayers:

1. Further funding to hire PT staff – honestly, I’m looking for ways to raise more dollars in our community in order to hire Part Time staff.

2. More leaders – we need about 15 more leaders, 5 at each school, to serve various roles and reach 150-300 more students. Leaders to initiate new relationships with kids, some to lead small groups with kids after school, some to equip believing kids to share the Gospel with their peers, and some to give their time at clubs.

3. Gospel presentations – Once or twice a quarter we give explicit Gospel presentations and opportunities to respond. Pray for hungry hearts for God.

Praises:

1. High School overnight and high five events – our kids continue to want depth. They are learning that deep conversations are where wrestling with fears, doubts, and struggle lead to the best parts of life. And, in the midst of that, many of them are learning that Jesus is the best person for growth because he offers what no other solution does…life.

2. Post Prom – guys, I’m no spring chicken anymore, but it was a great night meeting new students, serving them, and laughing with them. Some of my students I met as 7th graders are about to graduate, I’m officially old.

3. Continues to provide funding – the Lord Jesus is faithful to provide. Allison and I are blessed that many believe in our mission and vision for the Millard North Community.

God bless

"Please pray for my husband James that he would be the spiritual leader, provider and protector of our family. Pray that he puts the Lord first and listen to Jesus. That he would put the Lord first in our finances and honor our marriage. Pray that the Lord, would bless my husband’s work. that he would be diligent and prosperous and given favor both with the Lord and man. Pray everything that has been stolen from him and his wife would be returned 10 fold. That he would be the head and not the tail. That everything he does prospers.

Pray that no weapon formed against us would prosper. That the Lord would give him good health, wisdom and discernment. Pray that the Lord would give him strength to walk into opportunities he provides. That the Lord, would infuse his character with courage for daily decisions and heal the past wounds of my husband’s heart. Pray the Lord would guide my husband a s the leader of our home. Help my husband’s parenting to reflect Jesus Christ to our children. May his leadership skills be empowered by the mind of Jesus Christ.

Pray the Lord would lead my husband’s hand and heart in our relationship, his work, our home, community and church. Also please pray for him to be protected and for the lord to place a guard over his heart, mouth and mind, Jesus. Also to protect him from temptation and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Lastly pray for him to have encouraging and godly friendships. Break any soul ties or relationships that are not from the Lord. In Jesus Name Amen."

“O God, we want this work kept on a miracle basis. We want everyone to know that God's hand is on this movement. We want folks to see that this is too big and too great for any person or group of people to accomplish by themselves. We want folks to say God did it."

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

I’m so thankful that God knows what’s going on in the hearts and lives of EVERY person, including every student we get to interact with. There have been many moments of praise this month and further prayer in the lives of students, as well as our parents. I praise God for the 130 of you that pray for us. I’m convinced that it changes the world, even if we don’t always see it, because God sees it all.

So, let me list many and you pick a few!

Praise/Further Prayer:

• “Kurin”, the young woman who’s mother passed away in Oct. has been opening up weekly to our leaders. She has been giving out hugs, engaging here and there, and wants further depth. Pray for our leaders to have solid boundaries with her (she’s an attention seeker) and for our wisdom as we interact with her, not being professional counselors.

• “Amy” has been a Campus Life kid for years, and she told us this week that the Lord has been working on her heart in the area of her sexuality. She’s identified as bi-sexual or pansexual for years and now the Lord is working on this part of her heart too! He’s also delivering her from cutting and depression, though it still happens, but so much less frequently. Praise God and pray for her further growth in these!

• I’m praising God for “Jake.” God brought him to us this year for the first time and we’ve been able to walk through many issues with him. He said last week “I no longer hate people, but I don’t want to be around them that much,” sounds like the Grinch to me! Pray for him as he continues to battle depression and walks toward the light.

• Pray that “Gerald” and “Chad” come back to the light. They continue to make poor life choices with their finances, drugs, and women. I’m praying they radically meet the Lord and are transformed by the renewing of their mind!

• See the Story 2019 saw over 1600 people join us for what God’s been doing this year. I’m praising him for the 70 people that joined us from the Millard North area and asking the Lord “now what?” His plans are far better than mine and I want to be apart of them! We will see how he moves us all more toward his plans in this!

God Bless

Please pray for the family of Bonnie Havekost who passed away Thursday night after a long battle with heart problems and dementia. She was my kindergarten teacher, my confirmation sponsor, and an otherwise significant person in my life for the last 36 years. She leaves behind her husband, Milt, along with three grown sons and their families.

Please pray for my Aunt Kay who lives on the Oregon coast. She had heart valve replacement surgery around nine years ago, and that valve is now failing. In order for her to survive, she will need another similar surgery which comes with major risks to the point where only Stanford University or the Mayo Clinic doctors can perform her surgery. Even though she feels fine currently, her condition is very serious. My dad was her only sibling, so my mom, my brothers, their families, and I are all the family she has. Thankfully she has a good network of friends where she is. The thing that concerns me more than her physical condition is I don't know where she is in terms of faith. She does not attend church regularly, but she was baptized and confirmed. When she visits here, she attends church with us and participates in worship. Please pray both about her physical and spiritual situation, and please pray that if there is something my family is supposed to do or say that God give us the words and opportunity to do so knowing the limitations of the great geographical distance between us.
