Join others for a time of prayer:

Wednesday: A group meets at the West Campus on 180th 2 blocks North of Dodge at 4:00 pm in room W 10/11.

If we can pray for you, please submit your request on the Prayer Wall.

So, how do we pray? Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray.” He did not say this is what you should say, but rather this is how you should pray. The Lord’s prayer gives four specific things to pray about. One of the best ways to remember these four things is through the acronym P.R.A.Y.

PRAISE

Tell God thanks for who He is and what He has done. Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9a) See also: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

REPENT

Confess your sins to God. Tell him how sorry you are for them and that you need His forgiveness. Ask God for strength not to do the sin again. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) See also: Psalm 51:1-12

ASK

Give your requests to God. Give us today our daily bread.” And “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:11 & 6:13) See also: Ephesians 6:19-20

YIELD

Spend time submitting to God that His will be done in your life. Spend time quietly listening to God. Your kingdom done, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) See also: Matthew 26:39 & Psalm 46:10a

“O God, we want this work kept on a miracle basis. We want everyone to know that God's hand is on this movement. We want folks to see that this is too big and too great for any person or group of people to accomplish by themselves. We want folks to say God did it."

Some weeks are like last week, where I get discouraged, I think that the darkness is winning. When sin is revealed in the lives of multiple people and there’s pain in the pain. But Jesus reminds me, “I’m the healed, I’ve been drawing the whole time. They’re with you, doesn’t that mean that I’m present?” So I thought, of the 12 kids going to RED Weekend, I started relationships with exactly one of them, Jesus drew ALL of them by HIMSELF. But the fact that they’re there, weekly, listening to the truth, receiving love, and seeing a glimpse of Jesus, means the light, our savior, is actually on the offensive, not the defensive. So darkness, be put on notice, because Jesus wins and I believe they wouldn’t be there if Jesus wasn’t working behind the scenes on a dozen different hearts, softening them for the truth of Jesus, even as darkness claws and scrapes for handholds at a soul that is slipping away from them into the safe hands of Jesus. Hope is rising…and found in Jesus.

Every so often we have huge events where we get loving adults with extended time with teenagers. This weekend is RED Weekend, where we get a whole weekend to do just that. There are 207 students going, 12 of whom are from Millard North. Let me ask that you pray for 2 or 3 of these students as they go through this weekend. In all of it would you pray against the darkness with me, that evil would be bound? Pray for wisdom for our leaders in conversation and clarity for our speaker in delivery. Thank you in advance!

“Jeff” He got caught up in some poor choices his semester and was suspended for a few weeks. Praying he meets Jesus this weekend

“Steve” He’s knows Jesus and said last week “I finally realized how much I’ve put my identity in what other people think of me. I want what Jesus thinks of me.” He’s so close to jumping in deeply with Jesus. I’m praying this weekend is a line in the sand moment for him.

“Gerald” We’ve been praying for him for 3 years. Drugs, sex, and he’s loves the darkness. But he’s attracted to the light and shows up each week. Praying this weekend he finally is drawn to the light!

“Wyatt” He knows Jesus and I’m praying he grows in Jesus as he helps steer conversations toward Jesus

“Amy” She knows Jesus and is at a turning point. Praying this helps dive her deeper into her wounds and deeper into his healing

“Christy” Again, knows Jesus and I LOVE her heart for her peers. Even as she heals herself, she wants others to hear about her Savior. Pray she has a great weekend as she herself hears truth and grows in Jesus!

“Kari” It’s been a long year for her between moves, changes, life, and growing. I’m praying this weekend she realizes Jesus is worth it, he’s good ALWAYS, and she heals of some of the past hurts in her life.

“Mary” We don’t know her story yet, but I know she’s been grounded extensively for choices she made this summer. Praying she shares her story and encounters Jesus.

“Teri” New to Campus Life and doesn’t know Jesus. She’s in the dark, but last week said “I don’t know why I keep coming here but it’s the only place I feel like I can be myself.” That my friends, is Jesus.

“Grace” Has made recent poor choices with her boyfriend. It’s really fresh emotionally for everyone, so there’s a lot of wounds that are still bleeding. I’m praying she can open up and find the freedom that Jesus offers, forgiveness that’s real, and satisfaction that is deeper than sin.

“Chad” Again, praying for 3 years. Drugs and sex, and he also loves the darkness. In fact, he’s quite against the light and has revealed zero to nothing about himself for 3 years. I’m praying he opens up this weekend. I’m praying he reveals his real hurts. I’m praying he listens to Jesus and meets the real love, grace, healing, and forgiveness that he offers.

“Annie” Drugs, alcohol, and sex, that’s her life. She has said that the best things in her life and doesn’t have the greatest home life. I’m praying that she is also open to what Jesus offers. REAL life.

2. Keep praying for Jason and Christie Currie. The most recent tests showed that the cancer remains present and a threat. Outside of a miracle from the Lord, the diagnosis is not good. But I know the God we serve is a God of miracles and a God of the 11th hour. He always shows up at exactly the right time. So we continue to pray and wait expectantly.

Continued Prayers:

1. In Nov. and Dec. I’m working to ask 10 more people if they’d join our financial support team. With Jason (our executive director) helping his wife go through cancer treatment, we’re stepping up our staffs fundraising efforts to fill some of the gap he normally would. It’s an honor and privilege to invite people into our current work!

2. I’m praying for 3 more female volunteers for our Millard North middle school club.

PRAISES:

The Brookside Retreat was incredible. I enjoyed every minute of it. I got so many encouraging texts and emails from you all as I got to speak the truth of the word of God. Lives were transformed, kids shared about the deep parts of their hearts; suicide, cutting, tobacco, relationships, it all came out with loving adults who are still in relationship with him. Praying for their souls as they come off the “camp high” and are back in the situations they left. You did the work of prayer and for that I’m so thankful. Beyond grateful. THANKS!

Prayer Warriors,

Let me briefly challenge us with something I learned from the Lord. The lottery was recently an astronomical number somewhere around $1.5 billion dollars. I chose NOT to buy a ticket for a number of reasons, but the biggest being what the Lord showed me. Even with $1.5 billion, we could live off it and give it away continually. It would take a while, but eventually, it would all be gone. My God owns the “cattle on a thousand hills” (Ps. 50:10) and he “gives from the spring of the water of life without payment” (Rev. 21:6). He doesn’t run out of resources and always provides for us (Matt. 6:25-34). For Allison and I, he’s always provided in the past, even last month as he squashed our final grants. So I know that as we transition to a smaller income, it will continue to be enough because he always provides and I can rest in faith, and work as he directs, that ultimately he’ll take care of it!

I apologize for the length as there are many students and events in need of prayer. As we often do, pick one or two to pray for as you have time!

Prayer requests:

1. Pray for our high school group. We have 6-8 kids in a self-titled “bad kids group.” We got to have a gut level conversation a few weeks ago where all of them admitted to smoking, drinking, and a few to sex. Some started these deviant behaviors as easy as 11 and 12. They do not yet see the destructive nature of their choices, nor have a desire to change. But we I did get to say this clearly last week: “I love you and want you to know, one person believes in you. But don’t for one second think that I am an idiot or that I think the choices you’re making a wise or good. I’m here because I’m waiting for the moment, in the near future or far future, where you want to change, and I’ll be that first phone call.” It wasn’t an earth shattering moment for any of them at the time, but I think our love for them will continue to pay dividends in the future!

3. I speak at Brookside church’s fall retreat Nov. 9-11. Pray for me as I listen to Jesus, to speak in truth and grace (John 1:14, 18), but also for the hearts of the teens and adults listening.

4. Pray for RED Weekend Nov. 16-18. Specifically, that we get 7 guys and 7 girls to attend and that money isn’t an object to keep them from coming. So far, we have 2 girls signed up (with 3 more working on it) and zero boys (with 1 confirmed working on it.)

Continued Prayers:

1. Continuing to pray that the least, lonely, and lost join Campus Life. We have some incredible leaders ready to love them well!

2. In Nov. and Dec. I’m working to ask 10 more people if they’d join our financial support team. With Jason (our executive director) helping his wife go through cancer treatment, we’re stepping up our staffs fundraising efforts to fill some of the gap he normally would. Prayer Warriors,

I apologize for the length as there are many students in need of prayer. As we often do, pick one or two to pray for as you have time!

Prayer requests:

1. Pray for “Kari”, one of our students. Her mother died a few weeks ago and it has led to loss and some deep depression. She does not know the Lord yet.

Update: her depression has continued but she’s been opening up to a leader and friends about this new normal. She is also seeing a professional counselor. Some of the music she’s listening to is quite depressing /negative so keep praying!

2. Pray for “Jackson” as he has been making some poor choices with drugs, destructive behaviors, and suicidal tendencies. He does not know Jesus, but we’re praying he is transformed by God

Update: As a result of your prayers we’ve actually have 4 great conversations thus far. Still a lot of things to work through, but I believe your prayers have allowed BOTH of his parents (divorced) to reach out to me and they are both excited he’s connected. Keep praying.

3. I speak at Brookside church’s fall retreat Nov. 9-11. Pray for me as I listen to Jesus, to speak in truth and grace, but also for my family as it will be a full month of being gone on the weekends.

4. Pray for RED Weekend Nov. 16-18. Specifically, that we get 7 guys and 7 girls to attend and that money isn’t an object to keep them from coming.

Continued Prayers:

1. Continuing to pray that the least, lonely, and lost join Campus Life. We have some incredible leaders ready to love them well!

Update: We’ve seen almost 20 new students this year. Many of whom are in these circles. Praise God!

2. Pray for the salvation of “Gage, Chase, and Jackson.” I’m praying that the Lord radically changes their lives!

I took the three of them camping over fall break last week. I learned a lot about them all and they heard the Gospel a ton of different ways. Two of them would relate to the prodigal son and I’m praying they “come back home.”

PRAISE!!! Allison’s teach grant was listed as “accepted” and she can be a stay at home mother forever!!! We got the news about 14 days ago and haven’t stopped celebrating the Lord’s provision. Debt free and able to live on what the Lord has provided for us through YFC. Praise the Lord, praise his name! For he is good, and his steadfast love endures forever!

When I was younger I memorized Micah 6:8 which said: “You oh man, what does the Lord require of you? But seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” As I read it the other day, I noticed that it reads “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God.” I realized my error, to seek something and not find it, is a bummer. If you seek, that means you’re consistent with what has been challenged, seek. But, it is “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” All three are active commands. It is much harder to do justice because it requires we get skin in the game. We are challenged to love mercy. I thought of all the students I have: “Do I LOVE giving them what they don’t deserve? Do I love showing them kindness when they are being horrible?” Ironically, it juxtaposes the first command to “do justice” because justice demands a penalty be paid, but they go together. Finally, walk humbly with God, as if that is an easy thing. I’m so prone to pride that it’s almost second nature an don’t get me started on how often I’m right and someone else is wrong (just ask my wife). It’s something I was challenged with recently, maybe you will be too!

Praise:

We had some new young students show up to club. Two of whom just got suspended from school. You might not see that as a huge win, but I do. They are the least, lonely, and the lost!

"O God, we want this work kept on a miracle basis. We want everyone to know that God's hand is on this movement. We want folks to see that this is too big and too great for any person or group of people to accomplish by themselves. We want folks to say God did it."

I’ve been thinking about this truth recently: “God can do more in 1 day than I can do through 100 years of effort.” To put that into perspective, I have close to 5000 students among the 4 schools that I serve. Jesus fed that many people with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Jesus saved that many people in one day during Peter’s 2-minute or less sermon in Acts 2. God relented and spared the city of Ninevah with 120,000 people (24 times my school) in 3 days through Jonah. So I continue to learn to be a man of action AND prayer for our community. It makes me wonder where else I’ve been trying to do it on my own, instead of looking to God, because to say it’s easy for him is an overstatement.

Prayer:

1. The launch of clubs! Our on campus activities all start this week and we’re excited to be around them weekly. Pray that the least, lonely, and lost would be attracted to our leaders.

2. We’re going to make a push to increase our social media presence to reach more kids. Pray for a social media team of students to be a part of that dream!

3. I want to ask again, pray that the least, lonely, and lost would look in awe and wonder at God. He draws, we’re simply a piece of that process!

4. Lots of events in the next 2 months. We want to interact with lots of students and are hoping that they can get connected to us, then the Church!

Thanks for your prayers. God can do incredibly much more than we can ask or imagine (Eph. 3:19-20).

"O God, we want this work kept on a miracle basis. We want everyone to know that God's hand is on this movement. We want folks to see that this is too big and too great for any person or group of people to accomplish by themselves. We want folks to say God did it."

Prayer team,

I’ve been a bit absent on updates the past few weeks. My apologies. It’s a combination of trying to honor comp days from our camps. Now that those are finally in the rear view mirror, I do plan to be every other week as before. Here is a window into the last few weeks

Praises:

302 total campers had a camp experience

85 student met Jesus for the first time. Praise God for 85 new brothers and sisters, including a leader!

88% of them had a positive response to Jesus.

We had one student from the Millard North area who got a Bible for the first time. I’m also thankful for the two Millard North students who said “no” to Jesus’ offer. It means that we get to have future conversations and love them as they process their questions and wrestle with God. I know who wins in the end and am thankful for the process!

Prayer Requests:

1. Success and favor with the schools. We’re tweaking a few things and I’m praying that we can have more access to the middle schools to serve them. If there’s a way to get more Christ-loving parents, volunteers, and teens into the schools, I want to explore it.

2. For our students who met Jesus or want to go deeper, I’m praying small group leaders step up to start teaching them the way. There’s a bunch of baby Jesus followers who need guidance and we want to do that well.

3. Pray for the 37 students in Omaha who said “no” to Jesus, including the two from Millard North. That the “hound of heaven” would win them over this year!

4. One of our students “Karissa” recently moved out of state to get a fresh start with a relative. Pray for her grieving family as they’re hurt by the move as well as her heart to grow and mature.

“You are who you are, where you are, because God wants you there.” I heard that the first time in 2012 at a tiny conference for those in student leadership. It has since become a truth I get to faithfully share. We could have been born at any point in human history anywhere in the world, but God chose here and now for us to be together. Acts 13:36 36 For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption. So today, are you and I living in faith and serving God’s purposes in the ordinary as David did in his generation?

Praise: thank you for your prayers for Rivercrest. It was a great week, hard, but good as 150 students were invited to take steps toward Jesus. I trust that each student, by the Spirit of God, heard what they needed to hear. I was blessed to share with them and am grateful for the chance to walk through the sentence: “Hear me out. In Christ, the lost get found, as broken vessels, to share his heart and kingdom with the world.”

Prayer: for the hearts of those 150 students to walk with Jesus this year. That they each mature where the Lord was and is challenging their hearts!

Praise: for the 49 high school students, 4 of whom attended Millard North, that were at Quaker Ridge camp last week. One Millard North student shared that God challenged and loved her heart of some of the anxiety she deals with. I praise God that he gave her exactly what she needed!

Prayer: we’re taking 240 students to middle school camp Friday – Tuesday on this week. I’m praying for heart change and each kid taking steps toward Jesus. 7 of those kids will be Millard North kids and I’m looking forward to what God does in their hearts! For myself and our leaders, that we would be in tune with the Spirit and what he wants to do, not our own agenda.

North Korean government has allowed families of prisoners to visit prisoners (also later once by month) and put outside food (outside families have bought/brought) to prisoners.

According to the news even the satanic face prison officers cried on phone call with families of prisoners, saying (Hurry, come and see, your family is really really in danger)

First let us give the Lord thanks for the abundance of all things. Please pray that the Lord would deliver his people from evil men; That the Lord would preserve his people from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually. Pray against the spirit of anti Christ, false witness, terrorism, hatred and violence.

Please pray and intercede without ceasing that God's will be done in the lives of the world's leaders and for our leaders to seek God and listen to Him. Pray that they would be surrounded by godly counsel and, that our leadership would personally know God and the salvation found through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

That we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. God can turn the hearts of kings. Earnestly pray that the people of America and its leaders will humble themselves and seek the Lord's face and turn from their wicked ways. Pray that the Lord would hear from heaven and forgive our countries sins and heal our land.

God Bless America Pray that the Lord would grant peace in America, that we may lie down and no one will make us afraid. That the Lord would remove wild beasts from the land, and that the sword will not pass through our country and that President Trump along with our leaders be filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might to declare the sins of God's people.

Please pray for revival and that the Lord would pour out his spirit on his servants, throughout the world both men and women. Pray for the peace of Israel. Gods will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Puerto Rico updates:

Today we begin working in VBS. Teachers talked about the story of Daniel. Late at night, Pastor Magda officiated the Praying Service. It was a really wonderful experience. Three members of our team shared their testimonies with the congregation. Their stories are examples of how great is our God. In addition, we had worship time and the local church pray for the team as the team pray for Puerto Rican Church of Ponce.

Today us our second day of VBS (Vacation Bible School) and kids learn a lot about Daniel and how he was faithful witness of God. Kids had a very fun time. They made different types of crafts, play games and also they sang worship songs. Meanwhile, there was part of our team putting sealant to the church roof and also painting the fences. Stay tuned with us and see how God is working and blessing Ponce, the City of the Lions.

[We read] In the King James Bible, Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada and Poland. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher?

Please pray that Poland, the USA/Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18).

* Poland, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord by faith only,

* the Church in the USA, Canada – Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church--Matt. 3.12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

* my family:

1. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughter Ann, and our sons Peter and Daniel - "..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15

2. Pray for God's will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for great wisdom in school for Daniel, and for Edmund’s work situation, for Dorothy and Peter (also God's direction for his life) and Ann (God's protection over the company where she works),

3. God's order in my work. I ask God for great wisdom at my work. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.
