CHURCH HISTORY

The congregation of Lutheran Church of the Master (LCM) was organized in 1959 with a Christ-centered mission reaching out to Southwest Omaha. While Omaha has changed greatly over the past 50 years, we have remained committed to confessing the life-giving Word of God.

Our congregation is a charter member of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). We are a part of the Heartland District and a designated teaching center and a house of studies for the Institute of Lutheran Theology. Lutheran Church of the Master was previously a part of the American Lutheran Church (ALC), the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) before helping charter LCMC.

We continued the mission to west Omaha by expanding to a second campus in 2003. We now hold worship services, preschool sessions, youth events, numerous education experiences and a multitude of other opportunities at both locations.

God started something special at LCM, and we invite you to join us in this life-long journey of faith.
