April 2018

The church board continues to work with the staff in getting the word out on what is happening at LCM. We want the congregation to be informed. Watch the weekly announcements at the beginning of each service. If you miss a weekend, you can catch them on YouTube via LCM or on Facebook. The monthly newsletter, weekly bulletins, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn are all ways to connect with LCM. An upcoming LCM church app will soon be ready to launch.
The building maintenance campaign project is moving forward in assessment and obtaining bids needed for both east and west campuses. Don McAhren is the capital project committee chairman. Our board president, Jerry Osborne, and board members Jim Norton and Deb VanRoy are working with Don in ironing out the project details to be worked on before this fall.

There is a fresh new look to the East Campus youth room. LCM youth, YFC ministries and other volunteers all assisted in painting and updating the area. Check it out!

VBS is returning to East Campus this summer. It will be held at the end of July. It is still in the planning stages, but will probably be an evening event and run from Sunday through Thursday. Watch for upcoming announcements.
The board revisited the past security assessment by the Omaha Police Department with Shari Bevilacqua. Steps have been taken to achieve a secure environment. The security assessment continues as we work with a network coalition of other local area churches.

Stacy Metz, treasurer from the LCMC Heartland District, presented the history and impact of this ministry to the board, offering words of thanks to LCM for our support. Lutheran Church of the Master will be hosting the Heartland’s annual conference in July. Watch for upcoming volunteer opportunities for this conference.

As the Call Committee continues to interview candidates for the West Campus pastor position, Pastor Jonathan and Rachel Haseley will be visiting East Campus the last weekend of April. A possible welcome time is being planned for them. Watch for announcements. Pastor & Rachel ask for continued prayers as they take our Heavenly Father by the hand and embark on a new missional adventure here at LCM. They will be leaving Western New York at the end of June.
